Free-speech policy
You are very welcome to leave a comment at the bottom of any article on this site. However, expect it to be deleted if it breaks one of these rules:
- No off-topic nonsense or spam please. That means any irrelevant posts about Viagra, etc., especially if it includes URLs or hyperlinks to commercial sites. (Update: due to huge amounts of spam, any post containing the words ‘phentermine’, ‘adipex’, ‘hydrocodone’ or ‘http://’ will be automatically deleted without a moderator even seeing it.)
- No gratuitous vulgarity please. That means any posts that just say something like ‘your abunch of f***ing pinko retards’.
- No brainwashing theories. That means no posts that wholly or mostly consist not of counter-arguments but of assertions that we are mindless followers of someone or something.
- No argument by hatred. It is okay to make arguments and conclude that we hate someone or something (e.g. ‘you guys said that the KKK could all go to hell, so you must hate racists; as a Klansman, I’m offended by that!’). However, it is not okay for your premiss to be that we are haters (e.g. you guys hate white people; that’s why you diss the fine KKK!). We consider ‘arguments’ like that to be on the same level as gratuitous vulgarity.
Stick to those rules, and your comment will probably remain for all eternity! So say something wise.
